[She just stands there, thumbs hooked in her pockets in a way that absolutely does not look as casual as she is going for, and tries not to look awkward as she shifts]

[ It can't be any more failed casual than her: ears flat, tail lashing anxiously. ]

[Nemesis looks towards her, then away, then someplace in the middle.

Eventually:]

...I won't run, if you want, like. A do-over or revenge or something.

[ Just kind of-- aghast. ]

I don't want to kill you.

Uh. Thanks? Hadn't really been thinking of all that, but...

[Citation needed... She shifts; rocks back on her heels]

[ She breaks off abruptly and looks away. Ears still pinned to her head, arms crossed over herself anxiously. ]

[She shifts her weight to one foot, then the other; gives a helpless shrug]

...Anyways, figured I should say something.

[ Another halting pause, tail lashing ]

[Nemesis makes to speak and pauses, enough time for a number of responses to come from her mouth. Finally:]

...You were full of ghosts. It happens.

[ She doesn't know what to do with this lack of anger and blame and insults.

Actually, it just makes the panic worse.

Blurt out before she can stop it: ]

Why don't you want payback?

--Payback for killing you?

[Her voice is perhaps just a half tone too high, and she presses her mouth into a thin line afterwards; takes a breath]

...That's what you think of me, huh.

Payback for me jumping you.

[ A short breath ]

And-- and all the other stuff.

[She shifts; shrugs]

...Could just call it a wash for now. Even a ghost life's got a pretty strong exchange rate.

[ Flicks her an uneasy glance ]

. . . Yeah, I guess.

Then-- then we're even.

[Looks back to her, then nods]

Okay. I mean--if you agree.

Yeah. I do.

I don't . . . want this anymore.

[ she needs all her grudgeboner energy for Bad End's serial killing DOG ]

Guessing we ain’t suddenly gotta be besties now. But since we got a couple, uh. Shared interests, figure we can work out some kinda arrangement.

Yeah? I mean...I guess? Like, I kinda thought I'd be bleeding out by now; I hadn't really thought through non-stab alternatives to how this conversation might go.
